Dr. C Ramesh Kumar is a well-established Urologist in Chennai, with about 25 years of experience in the field of Urology. His main areas of interest include Endo-Urology, Uro-Oncology and Renal Transplantation. Since 1996 he has been attached as Consultant Urologist to the Madras Institute of Urology at Vijaya Hospital in Vadapalani, Chennai. He can also be consulted at Mano Medical Centre located in T Nagar, Chennai. Prior to his current assignments, he was associated with Vijaya Hospital as Senior Registrar Urology, from 1994 to 1996.

Dr. C Ramesh Kumar completed his MBBS from Madras Medical College in Chennai (1985) and Masters in General Surgery (MS) from JJMMC Davangere (1989). He then studied and trained at Government Royapettah Hospital & Vijaya Hospital in Chennai for three years from 1990 for the DNB (Urology) title of the National Board of Examinations, New Delhi, which he was awarded in 1993.

Dr. C Ramesh Kumar is a member of several Indian and international medical associations and societies, and has played an executive role in some of them. He held the post of Honorary Secretary of the Madras Urological Society in 2001-02 and was President of the Society for 2015-16. He has organised and conducted several live surgical workshops, seminars, symposia and other educational programmes relating to the field of Urology over the years. Prof. Dr. C Chinnaswami was born in Salem, Tamil Nadu on 6 July 1930. He graduated from Madras Medical College (MMC) with the MBBS degree in 1953 and completed his Master's in General Surgery from the same institution in 1958. He obtained the MCh (Genito-Urinary Surgery) degree from Madras Medical Collge in 1966, and was also awarded the title of Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS), Edinburgh, in 1964. He later added the DSc (Hon.) degree of the Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University to his name in 1999. He is a recipient of the Urology Gold Medal of the Urological Society of India.

Dr. Chinnaswami trained in General Surgery at Government General Hospital, Madras. He trained in Urology at the Institute of Urology, London & Western General Hospital, Edinburgh, UK, from 1961-64 under Mr. David Band, and from 1964-76 under Prof. A Venugopal, Government General Hospital, Madras. He joined the Tamil Nadu Medical Services and worked as Assistant Professor of Surgery and later as Reader, Associate Professor, and Professor & Head of Department of Urology at Madras Medical College and Government General Hospital. He retired from Government Service in 1988. Dr. Chinnaswami has delivered many keynote speeches and orations, including the Sarkar Memorial Oration (USI), HS Bhat Oration (SUSI), Dr. Umapathi Oration (TAPASU), and IMA Oration (Pondicherry State). Prof. Dr. C Chinnaswami is an Examiner for the National Board of Examinations in Genito-Urinary Surgery.
